Canvas video and ontimeupdate

Postby kfirst » Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:32 am

Having read today's "[whatwg] <video> feedback" at http://lists.whatwg.org/htdig.cgi/whatw ... 25028.html I wonder what the correct way to "play" video in Canvas is. ontimeupdate no longer seems an option as it won't fire for each frame. Is setTimeout as used in MDCs "Manipulating video using canvas" (http://bit.ly/12tfQ6) the way to go?

Yeah for now you'll need to use setTimeout while the video is playing. If you elaborate on your use cases, maybe we can develop a more useful API in the future.
