What happened to Web Forms 2?

Postby rendezvouscp » Fri Oct 09, 2009 12:33 am

Hi,

I was looking forward to using the Web Forms 2 repetition model in a current project, but I can’t find it in the HTML5 spec. I was under the impression that Web Forms 2 was being put into the HTML5 spec, but I wasn’t able to find anything concerning the repetition model in the HTML5 spec. I searched just about everywhere I could think of to find out what’s going on, but I wasn’t able to find any info.

What is the current status of Web Forms 2?

Thanks in advance.

WF2 has been integrated into the HTML5 spec, but some things were dropped, and the repetition model is one of them.

See http://dev.w3.org/html5/html4-differenc ... 2008-06-10 for the list of changes in the integration.

You could use a javascript implementation of the repetition model and use data-* attributes.

Well, that’s a shame. Thanks for the info; I ended up building my own with a little help of the data-* attributes.
