Best software for coding CSS3 and HTML5

Postby midnightsun » Mon Dec 07, 2009 5:35 pm

Hi,

What is the best and cheapest software to use to code CSS3 and HTML5 for a Mac?

I have recently downloaded Dreamweaver CS4 hoping that I can use it to try some CSS3 and HTML5. I am having trouble with it. DW doesn't even let me comment my CSS.

I would appreciate if you tell me what you use (for Mac) and how it's working out for you.

Thank you.

A plain text editor...and there are freeware text editors that do syntax highlighting. Using a WYSIWYG editor is highly inadvisable unless you're just starting out.

I use Notepad++ and it doesn't support HTML5 neither CC3 :(

I'd like to know an editor too.

Check out http://blog.whatwg.org/vim-checker

I think oXygen can hook into a RELAX NG schema for autocomplete and validation, so you could try using the schema that validator.nu uses.
