Dynamically refreshing the page with HTML5

Postby sndwav » Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:11 am

Hello ppl,

I was wondering if there is a way to refresh a stream of content dynamically using only HTML5. I've looked around but couldn't find much information about it.

The function I'm talking about can be visualized if you imagine the Twitter website, but when you get new tweets they automatically add themselves at the top of the stack (maybe with a nice slide-down animation to the previous content).

Can it be done using HTML5?
Thanks,
itai.

You can do that with XHR. If you don't want polling you could use websockets. The animation can be done with CSS transitions.
