CDATA in HTML

Am I correct in thinking that the only way to include markup in HTML to be processed as text rather than markup, is to use escaped entites, like

Or is there an equivalent to CDATA for HTML?

I don't think there is, because this was xHTML.
But you could use XHTML5, but remember that is real XML.

Oh I would use the numeric way instead to escape my html brackets.
