HTML5 / Ipad Friendly version of swf

Postby dudls02 » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:04 pm

Hi,

I have an swf file (http://www.souldevotion.net/spinbadge.swf) that i am trying to convert to an animation that will run on iPads and other non flash devices.

I thought that HTML 5 may be the answer so i tried both of the converters from Google and Adobe ( Swiffy and Wallaby) but both resulted in poor quality animations.

My question:
Is there any way I can put this on the webpage so that it is view-able by both flash and non-flash compatible devices?

If not:
How can i re-create the animation to work on such devices (is there any packages out their which make it easy to write animations that are iPad friendly)?

Thanks in advance

I reviewed an application first preview from Adobe and I was wildly unimpressed, it used frameworks in place of actual CSS3 code that's been in the process of being standardized, other solutions will probably follow the same example of how not to implement this.

You'll want to look at these two posts on the WebKit blog, WebKit is the rendering engine that powers Chrome and Safari.
