Section 9.2.4 Tokenization - End tag tokens with attributes?

Do you think the HTML spec should do something differently? You can discuss spec feedback here, but you should send it to the WHATWG mailing list or file a bug in the W3C bugzilla for it to be considered.

Section 9.2.4 Tokenization - End tag tokens with attributes?

Postby luiscubal » Tue Dec 29, 2009 11:36 pm

In http://www.whatwg.org/specs/web-apps/current-work/multipage/tokenization.html#tokenization:

Start and end tag tokens have a tag name, a self-closing flag, and a list of attributes, each of which has a name and a value. When a start or end tag token is created, its self-closing flag must be unset (its other state is that it be set), and its attributes list must be empty.

This seems to suggest that end tag tokens have a self-closing flag and a list of attributes, just like start tag tokens.
What is the point of that? Couldn't that at *least* cause a syntax error?[/url]
