Signed Numeric Type NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR

Do you think the HTML spec should do something differently? You can discuss spec feedback here, but you should send it to the WHATWG mailing list or file a bug in the W3C bugzilla for it to be considered.

Signed Numeric Type NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR

Postby Daren » Tue Jun 26, 2007 11:29 am

Upon reading the current work document, I encountered the following:

Unless other specified, if a DOM attribute that is a signed numeric type is assigned a negative value, a NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR exception must be raised.

Is this correct? To my mind, a "signed type" should be allowed to take a negative value. If not, why have signed types? Does the document mean to say that an unsigned type is assigned a negative value the exception must be raised?
