Hi

I validate my web pages with the W3 validator, click on the link associated with an element
http://www.whatwg.org/specs/web-apps/cu ... #something
..and that's it. Browser hangs, then I have to quit it and lose all my open tabs and work.
It happens with Firefox, on Macs and PCs, and on IE.

On chrome you get that little floating div saying "Too slow? try reading the multipage version"

What a pathetic attempt at fixing something that is totally broken.

Surely the best way to fix it would be to ALWAYS redirect people to the multipage versioon if they come from a different domain?

How can a web standard site, of all sites, create a page that crashes most browsers?

I remember posting something about this a long time ago (can't retrieve my old login details because I forgot my username) and it started a long discussion which ended up with you people being too arrogant to listen to people's complaints.

I am posting again, not expecting much in the way of a response

Please file a bug on http://bugzilla.validator.nu/ about making the validator point to the multipage version.

The single-page spec is huge and has lots of scripts for the floating status annotations and other things; it's quite the browser stress test.
