HTML 5 Should Introduce Some Type of Variable System

Postby scottd70192 » Thu Jul 09, 2009 2:30 am

HTML 5
Hey guys, look I realize html is a markup language, but it would be nice if they included some sort of interface for storing values without having to include scripts like Javascript and PHP or without having to post it through a form.

Please take the poll and let me know what you think.

they should make the syntax something like....
<var name="someVarName" value="someVarValue" />
The above code should be used to set the variable
The below code should be to retrieve the variable value
<varvalue name="someVarName" />
That would be a much simpler syntax. I found the websites that you included a little confusing, maybe you could clear it up for me.

Also, the vars should be able to be accessed and changed in PHP scripts, javascript, and other webscripting languages.
