Safari MP3: Native Player vs. QuickTime Plug-In

Hi, everyone

I have a HTML5 music player that I would like to use however, Safari seems to be handling MP3s differently leading to it not working...

I noticed that if I directly go to the URL of some MP3s, Safari will load it in its native player. However, certain other MP3s are opened using the QuickTime Plug-In in Safari.

I was wondering what causes Safari to handle MP3s differently?

Do you have any examples? Does it still happen with the latest Safari? Have you filed a bug? https://bugs.webkit.org/
