WHATWG general question

Hi there folks,

I'm hoping someone can clear up a couple of questions.

Is the WHATWG purely voluntary or does anyone draw a paycheck?

According to the FAQ, it says "There is a small oversight committee (known as the "WHATWG members", see the charter) who have the authority to override". Does that ever happen?

Can anyone point me to a list of previous editors of the WHATWG (or is Ian the first?)

It hasn't happened yet.

For the HTML spec, Ian is the first. But WHATWG has more specs now with different editors, see http://www.whatwg.org/specs/
